English proofreading help was invaluable in giving me the belief that I could really complete a university dissertation in a foreign tongue. My name is Abdul and I am from Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia. Thankfully, I found English proofreading for international students.

I have just finished studying in the US for an Engineering related postgraduate qualification. It was a massive challenge and a great experience for me. I had always wanted to go to the US to study and develop my English.

When I started my dissertation I was very nervous. I had done a dissertation back in Malaysia in my mother tongue (Malay) and it was very difficult. This would be on another level! How could I write fifteen thousand words in a language that wasn’t own? It was an intimidating task for me.

At one point I felt useless. I didn’t think I would be able to finish it but I had to in order to graduate. It would have been thousands of dollars wasted if I couldn’t pass it and I would have felt ashamed. My dissertation tutor was not very supportive. He kept criticizing my work saying my grammar was bad. This gave me very low confidence.

I decided to look for help. I found English proofreading on the internet and decided to send my literature review section of my dissertation to be proofread. They sent it back to me with all the editing highlighted in red. There was quite a lot of it but I realize it was only minor but important changes. I could tell it was now much better. They also gave me recommendations on how to improve my English that were very helpful. This gave me a lot more confidence as I knew I could send my work to them and have it proofread again.

English proofreading was a great help during my dissertation. I managed to hand in a good dissertation and passed well. Writing a whole dissertation in a second language is something to be very proud of!
